Description:
I use my server for different heavy tasks like GPU calculations, software compilations, data analyzing, virtualization etc. Because of coronavirus I decided to learn NLE (non-linear video editing), I wanted to have some skills in NLE for a long time and time has come.
After some short research I figured out that the most powerful NLE software is DaVinci Resolve 16 (I tried Kdenlive, Openshot, Olive). My graphic workspace is based on Windows 7 where I deal with UE4 and Blender and usually I connect to that workplace with help of Nomachine.
All worked fine until I tried to add a sound track to a DaVinci project, it turned out that DaVinci Resolve cannot work with a soundcard that doesn't support sample rate below 48kHz (studio quality). The second surprise become the fact that Nomachine sound card doesn't support any other sample rates than 44kHz.
I filled feature request on Nomachine forum, but I wanted to finish my DaVinci project and I remembered that I added one relevant project to my Github Stars some time ago - Scream (a virtual sound card with network broadcasting features).
As a result - the Scream sound card sends unicast sound data to my primary working station and I can utilize all features of DaVinci Resolve until Nomachine fix the problem.
